This November 22-23, 2025, India actively participates in the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa - a unique opportunity for our community to stay informed, connected, and involved.

G20 is a group of 19 countries and the European Union that come together to discuss global issues like economy, trade, sustainable development, and social initiatives. It’s not just about politics; it’s also about finding ways countries can work together to create opportunities, solve challenges, and improve lives. Which is why it’s exciting for communities like ours to follow and engage with it.

While South Africa holds the G20 presidency for 2025, India actively participates in various G20 engagements, including:

  • Climate Action: At the G20 Environment Ministers' Meeting in Cape Town, Indian Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav emphasized the need for G20 nations to bridge the gap between climate ambitions and implementation, advocating for inclusive climate action that respects each nation's contributions (source).

  • Energy Transitions: Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal highlighted India's leadership in energy transitions, including its support for Africa's Mission 300 to electrify 300 million Africans by 2030, and its achievements in clean energy and biofuels (source).

  • Parliamentary Engagement: Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh led the Indian delegation at the 11th G20 Parliamentary Speakers' Summit in South Africa, focusing on climate resilience and sustainable development (source).

While the G20 is a high-level event, it’s also a chance for us to learn, contribute ideas, and celebrate the community’s role in global conversations. Members can explore ways to participate and contribute ideas around G20 discussions. Some contacts and initiatives help the community stay connected with these events, and if you know of any, feel free to share them. It could help others in our community get involved, too.

Even small steps - sharing knowledge, volunteering, or guiding others - can make a meaningful difference.

Following updates, connecting with organizations, or attending community sessions around G20 topics is a great way to stay informed and inspired.

This is our moment to stay engaged, support one another, and see how we can be part of conversations that shape our future - together.
